a new life part four

We finally got Mickey loose from Maggie's grip, he looked kinda pissed when we left the Deli

We went on a few more rides. by now both the baby and i were dead tired but John wanted to keep going

"Can we go please?" I whined

"No we still have lots to see" John said

"John, Maggie is way over due for a nap and frankly so am I, what's left?" I asked

"Cinderella's castle.." John said mysteriously

"You're acting weird..something's up " I said suspicously

"Nothing's up..geez" John said defensively

"Somehow i don't believe you" I narrowed my eyes

"Believe it baby" John said then took me by the hand

We walked around and found ourselves in front of Cinderella's castle

"We're here..what's up?" I said dying of curiousity

"Hold on" John said then whipped out a blindfold

"What the?" I said as he put the blindfold on me

"Shut up for a second, will ya?" John said

"Bitch" I said irritated

"Yes but i'm your bitch" John said,"now shut up and move"

"Gee, what's up with the new attitiude, so forceful so strong..i kinda like it" I said flirting

"Later..for now..just hold on.." John said pushing me forward

"Ok.." I said confused at his sudden change in attitiude

Suddenly I was being led up a flight of stairs..

"John?" I asked

"No, my name's Nina" a voice said

"Where's my husband?" I demanded

"Getting ready.." the voice replied

"Getting ready for what?" I asked

"Oops..I've said too much" the voice sounded apologic

"Where's my child?" I said panicking

"Boy..your full of questions..aren't you? she's being taken care of..don't worry" The voice now sounded annoyed

Suddenly the blindfold was taken off me and i realized i was in a room

"Where am I?" I asked again

"the fitting room" Nina said

"the fitting room?" I said

"Yes, don't you know what a fitting room is?' Nina said irratied

"Sweetheart, i live in New York City . of course i know what a fitting room is..what i want to know is WHY am  I in a dressing room?" I said

"I'm sorry but i can't share with you that information" Nina said, "Now M'am, please your husband has instructed me to give you this bag and to  make sure your in front of the castle by six o'clock"

I was still completely confused but went along with it and opened the bag,

 inside the bag was the most gorgous white and light blue ball gown, it was strapless with tiny beads and pearls all around the base, there was white gloves  and hunging from the top of the dress was a diamond tiara..this dress would make Vera Wang cry.

"We must do something about this hair" a shrill voice said i turned around and saw a guy who resembled Carson from Queer eye for the straight Guy

"What's wrong with my hair?" I said instantly put my hand ontop of my short brown hair

"that hairstyle is SO 1984..we're going to jazz it up a bit" Carson-wannabe said

Carson blow dried my hair out then wrapped into a bun then placed the tiara ontop of my head and jammed bobby-pins into my skull to keep the tiara in place

"Ow!" I yelled for the fifth time

"Oh hush, Pain equals beauty" Carson said pushing a pin into my scalp

"Ow!..damn..." I said trying not to scream

"Hold still.." Carson said through clenched teeth

He finally finished torturing me and i was able to put my dress on, a smurf came up the stairs and did my make-up

"Did my husband happen to give you a pair of i don't know..heels?"  I said Nina and the smurf  once i was done getting dressed

"Yes but he only gave us one shoe.." Nina said

"One shoe? What am I? a one legged woman in an ass-kicking contest" I said

Nina kind of smirked and handed me a box, I opened it and found a glass heel

"I don't know the game he's playing but this is getting weird.." I said \

"Oh we gotta go..it's five minutes before Six" the smurf said pushing me out the door and down the stairs

Just as i got to the bottom of the stairs, a pumpkin chauffuered limo pulled up.(.if you think i'd make up something like this..you are the ones out of your minds)

"I'm looking for Cinderella?" the driver said

"Uh ..." I was speechless

"Do you have the glass slipper?" the driver asked

"Yeah" I said

"Then hop in, Cinderella" The driver said opening the door

I got into the back of this giant pumpkin and was driven to a platform

"Why am I here?" I asked

"To Meet Prince Charming of course"  The Driver opened the door

"Of course" I repeated

I stepped out and out of nowhere John appeared ..in a tuxedo!

"Hello Cinderella" He said

"What is going on?" I asked

"You'll see.." He said taking my hand and leading me up the platform

We walked up to the stage and i realized we were standing in front of about a million people.

"John.." I said starting to blush

He pulled out a microphone," This woman has always wanted a Cinderella type wedding and well, because of circumstances, we weren't able to have the wedding she always dreamed about but now in front of everyone and our families, We're able to have that wedding right now, so i'm asking you, Cinderella, will you marry me?"

I was so overcome with emotion and the tears just started pouring down my face

"Yes, I will marry you!" I said

Everyone cheered

"Are you surprised?" he whispered in my ear

"Yes, i can't believe this..how long have you be arranging this?" I said still crying

"Oh months and months.." he said

"You invited our families too?" I said spotting my mother and John's mother in the crowd

"Of course.." John said,"So let's get married!"

"Okey, but can i ask you one thing?"I said

"Sure" John said

"Why did you do this?" I asked

"Because  i knew you always wanted a Cinderella wedding and was disappointed that you weren't able to have it because you were pregnant " John said

"I loved our wedding last year but i think this is the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me and i just completely fell in love with you more" I said crying harder

He took my hand and led me up to where Mickey Mouse was standing next to a minister..

"Wait!" I said

"Don't tell me your getting cold feet" John said

"No we need Maggie " I said

"Ma!" John yelled, "Get me Maggie!"

John's mom and my mom came up on Stage and handed us the baby

"Alright..you may started " I said

"Dearly Beloved..." The priest began

                                             Five months later

It was Maggie's first birthday and we were going all out, huge cake tons of baloons all our friends and family, it was going to be a great party because Maggie, as well as John and I had surivived her first year, with the exception of our little accident last year and that unbelievable trip to Orlando, now it was time to celebrate, and wehad so much to celebrate, not only was it Maggie's first birthday but we were also having another baby, yes it's true.. i was pregnant.. again.. the baby was due in early April,  I knew we were having a boy but i wanted to surprise John so when it came time for the ultrasound, i refused to let him come with me.

Because Maggie was born the day before Christmas eve, we decided to have her party a week before christmas, because it wouldn't make sense  to give her a party then give her more gifts on christmas.. plus we'd go broke every year buying both birthday and christmas gifts.

Maggie's first birthday party theme was the Care Bears, we bought Care Bear everything, the cake,  plates cups, streamers, huge stuffed bears, everything it looked like a care bear convention exploded in our apartment.

I woke up early the morning of the party and started setting up the food in the kitchen

"Nik, where are you?" I heard John call

"In the Kitchen" I said making a veggie tray

"I'm heading out for a bit" John said swiping a carrot

"Where are you going? The party starts at 1" I said turning around

"I'll be back in an hour, don't worry" he said kissing me on the lips

"Alright but if your not back by 12:30..i'm going hurt you" I threatned him

"Hormone express..right on schedule" John said then kissed my belly bump

"Haha, go.." I said hitting him with my dish towel

"Ow hey" He said then kissed me one last time and left

I finished the veggie tray, made some dip, baked some cookies and then started to blow up balloons, when Maggie started to cry

"Hey Babe.." I said walking into her room,"Do you know what today is?"

She still kept crying

"It's your birthday party" I said picking her up, "We're gonna have cake, and presents and everyone is going to hug and kiss you"

She stopped crying but was still sniffling

"Ok, we're gonna get you a bottle and maybe read a story before everyone comes" I said bringing Maggie into the living room  and putting her on the couch

BEEP! BEEP!..the oven timer was screaming

"Oh Damn, my cookies" I said running into the kitchen, which was filling up with Smoke

I started coughing and choking while reaching into the oven and pulling out the cookie sheet which still had a little fire going, i ran over to the sink and threw water on it but it didn't make a difference, the apartment was filled with smoke, it was everywhere and i just collapsed in the kitchen and cried

"What the hell?" I heard John come in

"My cookies burnt" I whimpered

"Your burnt cookies and what? then  decided to set the building on fire?" John said opening the windows and turning on the fans  then came into the kitchen

At this point, i was still sitting on kitchen floor, crying

"I ruined Maggie's party and and!" I wailed

"And?" John said opening the fridge and got Maggie a bottle

"I'm fat!" I cried harder

"What?" John stopped and just looked at me like was crazy

"I'm huge and fat and disgusting and your not disagreeing with me so it must be true!" Now i was angry

"Whoa, A, your not fat, your having a baby, B i would never answer that question because you'd cut my balls off without thinking twice and third, you didn't ruin the party, you burnt some cookies ...that's all don't worry..now i'm going to go down to the bakery and pick up some cookies, why don't you go change?" John said helping me off the floor

"What's wrong with my outfit?" I said suddenly becoming worried

"Nothing..it's uh perfect but it's kinda cold for jeans and a tank top right? maybe you should put on a turtleneck and maybe that mini skirt" John said

"Not the mini skirt" I said shaking my head

"Why not?" He asked

"Cuz i can't fit in the mini skirt!" I started crying again

"Alright Alright, just go pick out something and I'm gonna take Maggie with me to the Bakery" John said then scooped up Maggie from the couch

"Don't Forget the Care Bear Cookies, the Elmos and the Elephant ones too " I said walking into the bedroom

"I won't" John said then SLAM! they were gone

I stood in front of the closet,  trying to decide what would look good at a one year old's birthday party, i finally decided to put on a black skirt, with a white tank and put John's dress shirt over it and tied it at the bottom, I debated between my Jimmy choos or my Manlos but i figured i would be more comfortable in my sandels

"HELLO?" a voice yelled startling me

"HEY!" i yelled back realizing  it was Annie

"Where the hell are you?" Annie said

"In the Bedroom..i'll be right out" I said looking for my favorite bracelet and finally spotting it on our wedding picture frame

I walked out and found Annie standing in the living with a huge package

"What the hell is that thing?" I said pointing to the  huge package sitting in front of the couch

"It's a present for my little niece" Annie replied," and no i'm not going to tell you what it is until she opens it"

"The box is bigger than her!" I exclaimed

"Shut up!" Annie said

"Hello Hello" Gina said sticking her head in the Doorway

"G, come in come in!" I said going over and hugging her

"Where's the birthday girl?" Gina asked sitting on the couch 

"At the Bakery with her Daddy" I said

"Can we do anything to help?" Annie asked

"Yeah..blow up balloons" I said tossing Gina the package

I went back back into the kitchen and started to make a salad

"Hey Hey" I heard John come in

"Hi!" Both Annie and Gina exclaimed

"Hi Sweetie" I said as John walked into the kitchen with Maggie and a huge bag

"Hi Baby" John said putting the bag on the kitchen table and putting Maggie on the floor

"Oh John, get her off the floor and go change her will you?" I said

"Her Diaper or the whole outfit?"John asked

"Both, go put on that multi-colored dress on her" I said chopping an onion

"Wait.your serving cake and punch right?" John said picking Maggie off the floor

"So?" I said sensing an argument coming

"Unless you like doing laundry, she's gonna spill everywhere" John said walking into the living room

"Fine, John, then put her in jeans and a t-shirt" I said rolling my eyes

"Uh is everything alright?" Gina asked

"Oh yeah..typical argument" I said finishing with the onion

"That sounded kinda rough.." Gina said gently picking up an apple

"Nah..it ain't nothing til one of us pulls out a butcher's knife" I said looking down and chopped a tomato  but moving my eyes forward to catch Gina's reaction

Her eyes just BUGGED out of her head

"G..I'm kidding" I said laughing

"Oh you are such a BITCH!" Gina said tossing the  apple at me

"Thank you thank you very much!" I said laughing

"HEY..WHERE THE HELL IS EVERYONE?" A voice yelled

"CATIE!" Annie shrieked

After Catie came, it's seemed like everyone came in one giant group.

By 2, everyone we'd invited had come and was chatting with each other.

 My cousin was holding Magie annd My mom was in the middle of critizing the way i heated the chicken wings up

"Nik..I'm telling you..you left them in the oven way too long" She said

"Ma, Fine then don't eat them " I said annoyed

"Well..when i used to throw parties like this , i never overcooked anything" My mother said

I was so frustrated, I walked over to where John and Vinnie were standing

"Nik, great party "Vin said then kissed me on the head

"Glad someone appreciates me.." I mumbled

"Why? what happened?" John said putting his arms around me

"My mother..apparently when she used to throw parties..nothing ever went wrong in her mind but as i recall..something ALWAYS went wrong" I said

"I honestly will never understand the relanship you have with your mother" John said rolling his eyes

"You and Me both" I said

"Well at least now that your pregnant again, John's  mom and yours won't fight over Maggie" Vin said

"True" I rolled my eyes

About two hours later, it was time to cut the cake and open the presents

"Stace, come help me in the kitchen" I said to my cousin who was playing with Maggie and Ali in the living room

"Sure" Stacey got up from the floor and followed me into the kitchen, John followed us

"John, why don't you put Maggie in her high chair and we'll bring out the cake" Stacey said

"Oh and Tell Andy to fire up the video recorder and tell Stevanne to get my camera and take pictures " I said

"Ok" John said turning around and headed back into the living room

I took the cake out of the fridge..it was a beautiful cake, shaped like a pink carebear with a party hat..it was almost  too cute to cut into

"Nikk..this is a beautiful cake ..where did you get it?" Stacey asked opening the candles

"The Bakery on Lexington and 118th street" I said looking for a lighter,"Oh damn, no matches, LOUIS!"

"What?" my cousin Louis came in

"You got any matches" I asked

"Sure.." He said reaching into his pocket and pulled out the matchbox, threw them at me and walked back into the living room

"Whatta guy" I said

"Alright let's fire this sucker up!" Stacey said rubbing her hands together

"Ok but it's gonna take two of us to carry it" I said, "ready ..1..2..3"

"Oh shit..this thing IS heavy" She said her face turning red

"You'd think I'd lie about this?" I saidnearly dropping my side of the cake

"Everyone..ATTENTION please..It's time to sing Happy birthday to Maggie" Dina called

"Newman..hit the lights" I called

Newman hit the lights and we walked to the center of the room

"Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, Ha

Happy birthday Dear Maggie..Happy Birthday to you" Everyone sang

"Maggie..we're gonna blow out the candles ..ready one two..three" Both John and I leaned foward and helped her blow out the candles

"YAHHH!" everyone cheered

"Let's cut this sucker!" John said

"So eloquently put" I said handing him the knife

I couldn't bear to watch him hack into the cake, so i turned and went into the kitchen to get the cookies. Everyone had some cake and it was time to open gifts

the first big gift was from Annie and it was a giant stuff cat..

From my parents and John's parents, clothes

From Stacey,Andy and Ali, little sneakers and a care bear lamp

From Vin, a mini drum set

From Catie, a hello kitty boombox

From Stevanne, a photo album

From Michelle, a blanket

From Gina, books and a stuffed bear

From Newman, a gift certificute to Baby gap

From my aunts,cousin Louis and his girlfriend, money in cards

My gift to her was a beautiful blanket made with the photos we took from the last year..it took me a month to sew but it came out great  

"This is so amazing..thank you so much" I said

"Wait .. I have one final gift for the birthday day girl" John said then disapeared into the spare room

"Do you know what it is?" Gina asked

"Nope.." I said  confused

"Here we go!" John said carrying a big box

"Are you ready Maggie,Let's open Daddy's gift" I said

I helped her tear off the wrapping paper and inside a large brown box was a Care Bear convertible porsche..something that was made for a five year old not a one year old

"Oh my god.." I said positively stunned

"Hey..way to go Dad" Vin slapped John on the back

After we finished the presents, I started putting food away..trying to get the house back in form

"Auntie" Ali said tugging on my skirt

"Yes Honey?" I said stopping what i was doing

"Can I play with Maggie?" Ali asked

"Sure but be careful ok?" I said

She nodded and ran off

"Do you need some help?" Annie asked

"Yeah..grab the cake and the dip and come into the kitchen" I said then went in the kitchen

"I can't believe John bought that car for Maggie"Catie said

"You and Me both.." I said putting the dishes in the sink

"Did you know he was buying it?" Gina asked

"No i figured the blanket would be from both of us" I said turning on the dishwasher

"Mommy! Auntie!" Ali yelled

"Ali! Honey what's wrong?" Stacey called from the kitchen

"Come quick!" Ali sounded so frantic everyone went running into the Nursery

I pushed past Newman and Vin to get into the Baby's room

"What is it, Ali?" I asked kneeling down beside her and Maggie

"Watch.." Ali said

She stood Maggie up and then held onto her hands

"Ready Maggie?" Ali asked

Maggie gurgled and smiled

Ali stood up, then took her hands away from Maggie's and stepped back

Maggie didn't tumble down to the floor  like she usually does..instead she took a few steps, looked around then took a few more steps

"Oh my god! My baby can walk!" I said starting to cry

"Maggie..come to Daddy" John said

She took a few more unsturdy steps towards John but lost her balance and fell

"Oops..try again" Catie said encouragingly

I tried to help her stand back up but she wasn't letting me help her

"Not like that Auntie..like this" Ali said taking Maggie's hands and standing her up then when Maggie was upright..Ali slowly took her hand's out of Maggie's and stepped back

Maggie took her cues from Ali and took a few steps forward toward John

"Keep going Baby..keep going" John coached her

She stopped, looked back at me then at John, Put her fingers in her mouth, kind of jumped up and down and walked a little more towards John

"My baby can walk yayy!" I cheered

"Good Job Honey" John said

I walked over to where John was and picked up Maggie

"This certainly has been a big day..your first birthday party and now you can walk!!" I said kissing her on the head,"But enough excitement, i think it's time for Miss Maggie to go to bed"

Everyone cleared out of the Nursery while I put Maggie into her pj's and rocked her ..it didn't take long for her to go to sleep in my arms

"Hey" a voice whispered,"is she alseep?"

I looked up and realized it was John,"I think so but i'm just going to sit here for a few more minutes and make sure"

John came over and kneeled beside the rocking chair and started to stroke Maggie's hair, which over the last few months had turned a deep shade of brown

"Can you believe she's one?" John said in awe

"I know..it's seems like only yesterday we were waiting for her to come and now she's a year old and walking, time has just flown by" I said playing with Maggie's little fist

"It's been an incredible year, and just think in a few months, we'll get to do it all over again" John said smiling

"John, I'm scared" I blurted out

"Of?" He asked looking worried

"How are we going to handle two babies?" I said starting to cry, which i seemed to be doing alot these days

"It won't be easy but i think we can handle it" John said soothingly

"How can you be be so sure?" I asked

"It's a gift besides, we got really lucky with Maggie and we'll be even luckier with the new baby" John said getting up from the floor

"I love you, you know that?" I said wiping my eyes

"Yes I do and I love you too" John said kissing the top of my head and walking back into the living room

I put the baby in her crib and just stood over it watching her sleep, amazed that this little person changed our whole lives and made it actually better, i was so happy and thrilled, i almost cried again.

I went back into the living where everyone was still sitting around talking, I went over to the couch and sat on John's lap

"Oomp" John grunted

"Sorry am I crushing you?" I asked nervously

"Oh no i'm fine" John said

"then why is your face beat red" Annie asked

"Shut up" I said sticking out my tongue

"Can you guys explain to me something?" Gina asked changing the subject

"Sure" I said curiously

"This afternoon, you guys were ready to tear each other's eyes out, now your all lovey dovey..what the hell's changed" Gina asked sipping her soda

"We just have a great connection" I said

"Yeah and the sex ain't half bad either" John said laughing

"JOHN!" i blushed

"Honey, Calm Down" Catie said

"I need to Call John.." I bolted upright..

"Sweetie, we'll call him later, you need to rest" Gina said

"No I need to call him now" I insisted

"Alright..I'll go talk to the head nurse about getting you a phone"Natalie said

She came back a few minutes later with a phone

"That was fast" Annie remarked

"I had to wrestle it out of her hands" Natalie said proudly

"You beat the crap out of the head nurse?" Stevanne asked

"No!" Natalie said

"Uh Guys?" I interrupted

"Why would you even ASSUME that?" Natalie said

"Well I don't know.." Stevanne said

"Guys?" I tried again

"My god..are you trying to start trouble?" Natalie

"Why are you always picking on me?" Stevanne said

"I'm not ..but you need to think before you speak!" Natalie said waving the phone

"GUYS!" i shouted

"What?" they both said at the same time

"I need the phone..kill each other later" I said

"Oh right" Natalie plugged in the phone

I dialed the phone number of the Hotel

"Hello Marriot Hotel" A receptionist said

"Hello, I need to be connected to my husband Jonathan Distefino" I said

"Hold please" The woman put me on hold then connected me

it rang like 10 times before someone picked up

"Hello?" a voice said..it didn't sound like John

"Uh Hi..is Jonathan there?" I asked

"He just left who is this?" the voice asked

"His wife.. who is this?" I asked

"Nik..it's vin" Vince said

"Oh my god..Hi Vin" I said blushing

"What's going on" Vince said

"I need John" I sai d

"Well he just went out to get us some dinner..Oh wait here he comes..HEY JONO! PHONE!" Vince yelled

"Hello" John said

I just started crying

"Hello..who's there?" John said

"John" I barely got the word out

"Nik..?" John asked

"I need you to come home now" I said

"We're gonna be home on thursday.." John said

"No you need to come home now!" I insisted

"Why? What's wrong?"John asked

"There's been an accident" I said

"What kind of accident?" John said

I put my fingers to my lips, the tears were streaming down my face,  before i answered,"I fell down the stairs carrying Maggie"

"Oh Nik.."John said,"Are you alright"

"No I broke my ankle.but it's not me you need to be worried about" I said

"What happened to Maggie?" John asked starting to panic

"They had to put her in a coma!" I wailed

"WHAT?!" He shouted

"She hit her head, John you have to come home" I said

"How could you let this happen?" He asked

"It was an accident.."i said

"I'll be on the first flight back to New York" John hung up the phone

"Is he coming home?" Catie asked

"Yes" I put my hands in my head and cried

Just then the Doctor came in

"Mrs.Distefino, I'm Dr.Harper..I'm the Head Doctor on your Daughter's Case" The Doctor shook my hand

"How is my daughter?" I asked worrying

"I'm not going to lie to you..It' doesn't look very good, her age combinated with the head trauma, She may not pull through, We put her in a medically induced coma and she's hooked up to a respirator,   if she does wake up, She'll lead a perfectly normal life with no reminder of the head trauma" The Doctor said

"Can I see her?" I asked

"Of course.." The Doctor said

I got into a wheelchair and the Doctor wheeled me down into the NIC-U, where the sick babies are, I spotted Maggie immediately

"Hi Baby" I said

she recongized my voice because she tried to move but couldn't

"Doctor..could i hold my baby?" I asked

"I'm sorry, No because of the all the tubes but you can hold her hand" The Doctor said

"Hi Maggie" I took her little hand mine,

i couldn't believe this was  happening

"Maggie, Honey..i know you can hear me  please wake up" I pleaded with her

She looked so little and helpless

"How long will she be out?" I asked

"It could be hours or even days" The Doctor replied

"My poor baby" I said

"I'll let you be alone with her" The Doctor left

I sat in that rocking chair for hours,alternating between crying and praying

I must have fallen asleep because when i woke up, I heard John yelling

"I NEED TO FIND MY DAUGHTER!" He yelled

"Sir, please calm down" a nurse said

"No..I need to find my baby!" He yelled

"JOHN!" i yelled

"Oh my god! Nikk!" He came  running toward me

"Ma'm Do you know this man?" a security guard asked

"Yes, He's my husband" I said

"I'm afraid I'm going to have ask you to leave?" The Guard said

"What? Why?" I asked

"He's disturbing the other patients, i'm going have to ask him leave" the Guard said putting his hands on John

"Please Sir, Our baby is very sick and he's just worried, if he promises to stay quiet can he stay?" I pleaded with the Security Guard

"Alright" The Guard relented

"Oh John!" I threw my arms around him

"Where is she?" He said

"Right over here" I showed him where Maggie was," Maggie, Daddy's here"

"Hi Babe," He stood next to the incubator,"she looks so helpless"

"I know"  I started to cry

"We have to be strong, if she senses we're upset, it's only going to make her more upset" John said

"Ok" I took a deep breathe

"Have you eaten?" He asked

"No, i've been here all day" I said

"Let's get something to eat" John said

"No..I'm staying here" I said

"Alright." John pulled up a chair

"I'm glad your here" I said

"Why wouldn't I be?" He asked

"I guess ..I don't know" I said

"Ok" He looked confused

Over the next few hours, we sat and just watched our baby struggle to wake up

"As awful as this sounds, Do you think we should have last rites given to her?" I asked

"What?..No.." He said

"John Be realistic, she may not make it" I said

"No..I refuse.." John said

"Why?" I asked

"Because it's like telling her she can die..it's not right" He started to get angry

"It may not be right but it's something we should consider" I said

"Alright that's it" He stormed out of the NICU

"Where are you going?" I chased after him

"I'm not going to sit here and let you sign our daughter's death certificate" He said stopping short

"It's just an idea" I said gripping the window sill

"A bad one" He snapped

"Excuse me..i was trying to make the right decision for OUR daughter!" I said

"It's not right and you know it!" He said

"Ya know, I can't do this right now! fight with you over a simple issue" I said

"I don't want to give her last rites" John said

"It doesn't mean anything..it's water on the on her head!  Oh my god! why are you debating with me on this?" I said

"Because I can't bare to let her go!" He yelled

"She's not going to die! it's just a precaution" I said

"I don't care!" John yelled,"This is all YOUR fault!"

"My fault?!" I couldn't believe it

"Yah, if you weren't such a klutz, we wouldn't be here right now!" John said

"Do you wanna know WHY we're here and why your DAUGHTER is struggling for her life?" I said

"Why?" He asked

"Because you left your freaking sneakers on the stairs and i tripped over them, that's WHY!" I yelled

"Oh please you were problably rushing down the downstairs and you trip on your jeans!" He yelled

"NO!" I yelled

"YES"! He yelled back

"You know what, go sit with your daughter, I'm going to find the hospital chapel and pray" I said walking away

"Don't forget your rosary beads" He said mockingly

"I'll pray for your soul while your rotting in HELL" i said

"Yeah Well, I'll save you a seat" He replied  

I'm not a deeply religious person but i was striking every deal with God i could think of.

"Alright, i know i've screwed up, I admit that but please please Just help my baby, i know when i got pregnant and married, i should have waited but please i love her and she just makes us so happy, i can't imagine our lives without our Maggie" I finished

"Nik" a voice called

"God?" I said

"Nik" ..i realized it was John

"Oh, it's you" I said

"I know you're angry with me but I'm sorry, i'm so scared and everything is happening at once..please baby i'm sorry" He apologized

"I am too .. " I started to cry and then i realized he was crying too

We sat in the front row of the church and just cried..We must have fallen asleep because a nurse woke us up

"Mr.and Mrs.Distefino..come quickly" the nurse said

"Oh my god What's wrong!" John said

"Maggie!"I just kept repeating her name

"Just please come with me" The nurse said

John took my hand and we practically ran down the hall, which isn't easy to do in a cast

A doctor and a couple of nurses were standing over Maggie's incubator

"Oh my god, I can't look" I said

John turned white and walked over to the doctors,then looked down

"Nik, i think you'd better come see this" John said

I took a deep breath and walked over to the incubator..

Maggie was awake!

"Oh my god!" I cried

"It's amazing..nothing short of a miracle" The Doctor said

"Hi Angel" John said picking our baby up

"Oh my god!" I couldn't stop crying

Maggie gave us a big smile and kind of rolled her little brown eyes around

"Is she really alright?" I asked

"She's perfect.." The Doctor said

"We already knew that" John said Handing me our daughter

"Maggie..you gave us a quite a scare Missy" I said wiping my eyes

"I think this was a sign to for things to come" John said laughing then kissing me on the head

"When can we take her home?" I asked the doctor

"Neither of you can leave the hospital for a few days" The Doctor said

"Ok but can the baby stay in my room?" I asked

"I think i can arrange something" The Doctor smiled

Five days later, we were able to take our baby home for good and John agreed to keep his sneakers off the stairs.

When we got home from the hospital, something was different about the house

"John ..is something wrong with the house?" I asked

"Yeah..I had to go buy a new front door" John said

"What? Why? were we robbed?" I said panicking

"No, When you fell down the stairs, Natalie kicked in the Door and broke it " John said

"oOo" I nodded

Over the next few days as both Maggie and I recovered, John took care of us..

"Honey..can i have more ice cream?" I asked

"Another bowl..that's like your 5th one" He said

"Please" I said pouting

"Fine.i swear sometimes..i don't know who's the bigger baby..you or Maggie" John said walking out the door

Over the next six months, we developed a routine and actually didn't tear each other's throat out..which was amazing considering how much of a temper we have..

By Now it was mid-july, sweltering hot and  even A/C wasn't cutting it

"I can't stand the heat anymore!" John yelled

"Would you shut up?! The Baby's asleep!" I said putting my hand over his mouth

"Sorry..but it's true.." He kissed me on the head

"I know..maybe we should take off for a few days.." I suggested

"Like where?" John said pouring a soda

"Maybe Florida?" I biting into a carrot

"Ok.. a reality spin..it's like nine-thousand degrees in New York.. so it's like be like eighteen-million more degrees in the south..think about it" John said

"We can go to Disney World and the Magic Kingdom..It'll be Maggie's first vacation" I said

"She's seven month's old..she won't remember it!" John said stubbornly standing in the kitchen with his arms folded

I knew exactly how to change his mind

I walked over to him,wrapped my arms around his waist and pouted

"Please ..can we go to florida?" I said

"Augh..alright!" He caved just like i knew he would

"YAHHH!!" I jumped up and down

"Your the devil..you know that..right?" He said smiling

"Well..the devil is hot and so am I" I laughed

"Got that right!" He said then chased me around our apartment

a few weeks later,  when we boarded the  plane, we were loaded down with a baby bag,the car seat, the carriage ..everything

"Do we really need all this stuff"? John whined

"Yes for the millionth time" I said rolling my eyes then shifted the baby from one side of my hip to other.

We got settled in our seats I was sitting on the window seat with Maggie on my lap and John was in the aisle.

 Maggie slept through most of the flight, crying only once when she got hungry but after i gave her a bottle, she went right back to sleep.

Once we landed in Orlando international airport, it was a bit of a struggle trying to lug everything off the plane

"Do you want me to get the car or do you want to get the car?" John asked putting down the baby seat

"I'll do it but then you'll have to hold the baby, open up the carriage and the diaper bag" I said

"Uh, i'll go.." He said then scooted off to the car rental counter

Just then Maggie started shrieking

"What's the matter,Baby?"I asked

Obviously she wasn't going to answer but she kept screaming lounder

"Well, Ok, your not hungry and we already changed you..hmm..." I took a shot and put my index finger in her gums

"ah Ha..a tooth..poor baby.." I said then dug through the Baby bag for her teething ring. she started mad gumming it

"Alright..I got the car!" John came bouncing up toward us

"So go bring the car around" I said rolling my eyes

"Why do i have to everything?" John said

"Everything? I ordered the tickets, Booked the Hotel and  I packed you, me and the baby ..all you have is get the car" I said starting to get angry

"If i get the car, promise to stop the meltdown?" John asked

"No but it would help with your case"I Smiled

"Yeah alright" He walked out the door to get the car

I sat down with Maggie on a bench and rocked a little because she was still gnawing on the teething ring

When John pulled up, I almost dropped the baby

"You rented a PORSCHE?" I said recovering slowly from the shock

"Hot right?" He said getting out of the car

"Were they out of Intrepids?"I asked

"Nah, they were crappy, but this is HOTT!" John said

"There's hardly any room for our stuff let alone our baby, what the hell?" I was so ..i don't know what the hell i was..

"There's plenty of room, Nik, Come this is a cool car" John pleaded with me

"Alright but pull any stunt driving moves and your in for the ass-chewing of a lifetime" I said

"Deal" He said then took the baby and put her in the car-seat  

We drove off and found our hotel, it was ] a villa, the baby had her own room and we had ours plus it had a kitchen, living room and washer/dryer, it was like being home.

I put the baby in the portable playpen and started to unpack

"Hey..forget the unpacking" John said taking a shirt out of my hand that i was putting away

"The Baby's watching" I said

"Not that ..although....i figured we could go up to the pool and go swimming" John said

"Good Idea..will you watch the baby while i change into my bathing suit?" I said

"Yeah Alright" He said flopping down on the bed

I put on my bathing suit then while John changed into his, i put the baby into her bathing suit and rub sun screen all over her because i know with her light redish brown she'd burn.

We went up to the Pool area, stocked with the baby, the baby carriage, portable radio, a video camera  and a bunch of books.

I put a hat and sunglasses on the baby and took her over to the pool, John was fiddling with the radio

"John, when i get into the water, hand me the baby" I said

no answer

"JOHN!" i yelled

"Oh what? sorry.." He apologized

"Stop screwing around with radio, When I get into the water, hand me the baby" I repeated

"Alright, Alright.." John got up from the table, took Maggie out of the stroller and we walked over to the edge of the pool

I jumped in and got my hair wet

"Are you ready to go into the water with  Mommy" John asked Maggie,"Are you ready?"

"Almost, just let me.." I didn't even finish the words before he let go and she went under the water,"Oh my god!"

I grabbed her by the arm and pulled her up

"What?" John asked, he'd walked away once he thought Maggie was in my arms

"You let go and nearly drowned our baby!" I said

"Oh my god..Maggie..I'm so sorry" He got down on his knees by the edge of the pool

Poor kid was coughing up water and trying to rub her eyes but it wasn't working

so far as Parents, we suck...

"Maggie, it's alright..It's alright.." I said trying to help wipe off her face

"I thought you had her.." John said

"No..i started to say i wasn't ready yet and you let go" I said walking over to the edge of the pool

"This kid isn't going to survive if we keep trying to kill her" John said holding out his hands

She must have sensed John was the one who let her go under the water because she gave him such a-you-asshole-i-can't-believe-you-let-me go look that it would have struck fear into the crypt keeper's heart

"It's ok baby, Daddy didn't mean it" John trying to apologize,"She hates me now"

"She doesn't hate you..she's just upset, you would be too if you inhaled chlorine" I said coming out of the pool and grabbed a towel.

"Do you think we should take her to the emergency room?" John asked

"No, i think she's alright" I said sitting down in the chair and putting the towel over the baby

We must have fallen asleep in the chair because when i woke up both Maggie and John were gone, i started to panic until i saw a note taped to the radio

Nik, Mags and I went for subs... back later..love John...

I guess Maggie forgave him

I went to the bathroom and came back to our table, they still hadn't come back yet...  i started reading a book and was half way through the first chapter when they come back

"Hi guys" I greeted them

"Hi Momma"John said,"We had a problem at the Grocery Store" 

"Oh lord, what happened?" I instantly become worried

"Maggie has become a thief" John said handing me the baby

"What did she take?" I said trying not to laugh

"a rubber ball, her little fist grabbed it and She put it  in the cart, i didn't even realize she'd taken it until we were in the car and she started to gum it" John said handing me  a sandwich

"Are you a little thief?" I asked putting the baby in the stroller

She gave me a big gummy smile

"We're raising a mini-Bonnie Parker" John said ripping a piece of bread off his sandwich and putting it in Maggie's mouth

"Well..if i get pregnant again, we'll have a little Clyde.." I said sipping my soda

"Oh god..that's a scary thought" John bit into his sandwich

We finished  eating and brought Maggie over to the sandbox, where she threw sand all around and clapped her hands.

That night, it didn't take Maggie long to fall asleep and she slept right through the night..It was the first time we'd actually be alone for the first time in seven months.

We made love for the first time and it was incredible but i'm going to keep those details for myself...

The next day we went to Disney World

"I can't believe we're here!" I said jumping up and down

"I can't believe it just cost me a 120 dollars for three tickets" John said

"It's gonna be so much fun, we'll go on all the rides, and eat junk food til we puke and then Maggie..are you ready honey? We'll see Mickey!" I said excitedly

Maggie just looked at us with wide eyes,drooled and fell asleep

"That's just great...we spent all this money and she's gonna sleep right through it!" John said getting angry

"She'll wake up..meantime..let's go on the Matterhorn!" I said pushing the carriage over to the ride, John took Maggie while i folded up the carriage, We stood in line for about 20minutes and just watched everyone come off the ride,

While we were standing in line, Maggie woke up and started singing to herself

"What an adorable baby!" a old woman said

"Thank you" I said then kissed maggie on her head

"How old  is your sister?" The woman asked

"Almost eight months" I replied

"Wait..What..Our sister?" John asked 

"She's not our sister, she's our daughter" I explained

"But you seem so young" The woman said

"Well..My wife is 23 and I'm 20..i guess you could say that is pretty young" John defended us

"Tsk, tsk..babies having babies" the woman shook her head

"Look..we may have been young but it's better than being 40 and resenting our daughter" John said then took Maggie and walked to the front of the line," NIK you coming?"

"Coming Dear" I said walking up to him

We got on the matterhorn and it was so beautiful inside but we weren't expecting the boat we were riding in to drop...it was such a sudden drop..i nearly let go of Maggie but kept my grip on her

"Oh my god! that was so amazing" John said as we got of the ride and started jumping up and down

"I told you" I said shifting Maggie to my other hip

"You were so right!" John kissed me on the head

"Let's go on Splash mountain" John said dragging me by the hand

"Whoa..slow down" I said laughing

"No..we gotta get in line" John said jumping around

"Yes but if you drag me and i drop the baby..we're in a lot of trouble" I said

"Right..So let's go let's go!" John was so cute the way he was so excited

"Ok Ok.." I said laughing

We went on Splash mountain, Cinderella's Golden Carousel, Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean...all before we ate lunch..which was good because most of those rides jerk you around so much you wanna puke

"John!" I said breathlessy

"We gotta keep going!" John said

"We gotta stop..please the baby is hungry and so am I" I said

"Oh Alright ..but after we eat, we gotta keep going" John insisted

"Ok Ok.." I said rolling my eyes

We ate at Mickey's Deli, which was in doors and Air Conditioner  (thank god!), while we were eating, Mickey Mouse came around

"Look..it's Mickey!" I said,"Maggie..Look it's Mickey Mouse..let's go over and get a picture"

"I don't know..Mickey looks a little rough " John said worriedly

"Oh Come On" I said picking up Maggie and walked over to Mickey

We walked over and tapped Mickey on the shoulder

"Mickey..this is Maggie" I said moving the baby from my shoulder so she could face Mickey

Maggie's eye lit up and she immediately grabbed the mouse's nose with all her might

"John, take the picture" I said

"Ready" John said then snapped the picture

"Thank you Mickey" I said and started to walk away but something was pulling me back

It was my daughter with a deadlock grip on Mickey Mouse's nose

"Maggie..Honey ..Let go!" I said trying to loosen her grip on his nose

"What's the matter?" John asked

"Your daughter won't let go" I said

"Hold on..Let Daddy fix it" John tried to loosen her fingers,"Ooomp some grip"

"What happened to "Let Daddy fix it" I said mocking him

"Alright so, kid's got a hellva grip" John threw his hands up

Just then everyone came on the dance floor and started to dance, it was a great party, the food was incredible and occassionally the baby would kick to show that he/or she was also enjoying  our reception as well.

We danced and just laughed all night long..and as soon as the last piece of cake was eaten and the last guest left, we came home and immediately fell asleep.

 Because i was pregnant and couldn't travel, our honeymoon would have to wait until after the baby was born, so we rented movies and ate popcorn for the next few days.

It was the day before Christmas eve, which was what John lovingly called D-day, the baby showed no signs of coming so John decided to go into work for a few hours and i decided to get the rest of my christmas shopping done, i had to buy a present for Ali and try to figure out what to get my mother because she basically hates everything we'd ever bought her.

John had just left after making me promise to call him every hour and give him an update on the baby..i was so big..i know i'm not a skinny person but i looked like someone inflated my stomach and refused to let the air out of the balloon

I was getting up to go the bathroom, when i got up and SPLAT!..my water broke!

"Oh my god!..not now..your not supposed to come for another day...and Daddy's supposed to be here, OoOO god!"I said as the first contraction hit

"Ok, let's call Daddy," I said picking up the phone

"Distefino skateboard repairs...Vince speaking" the voice said

"Vin, is john there?" I said

"Oh hey Nik, he just went to get a sandwich, why? what's wrong?" Vince asked

" I'm having the baby" I said

"Oh shit..:" He said," I'll get go him"

"You do that but tell him to meet me at Cedar's Sinai" I said

"Got it" Vince said then hung up

"OoOO GOD! We need to find Auntie Annie or Auntie Catie or one of your Aunts Quickly" I said dialing the phone

"Hello?" Annie answered the phone..thank god

"Oh i think i love you..I'm having the baby!" I said

"Ok calm down, i'll be right there don't panic" Annie said then hung up the phone

"Don't panic she says, i'm beeing ripped in two and she says don't panic, oOo god!" i said hunching forward as a contraction hit

The contractions stopped long enough for me to get my tank top and jeans on, it may have been december but it was so warm out..

"Where the hell is Annie? i'm gonna have this baby right here on the floor if she doesn't come soon" I said talking to myself

"I'm right here..so quit bitching.. " Annie said opening the door

"I have a right to BITCH OoOo god! " Another contraction hit, this time i fell on my knees

"We'd better get her to the hospital" Another voice said

"Who's that?" I said

"Honey, open your eyes, it's me Nat " Natalie said..i didn't realize my eyes were closed

"Ooh nat..i think the baby's coming" i said

"I know but unless you want to make the six o'clock news, you need to get up" Nat said helping me up

We managed to get into the cab without a problem but hit traffic

"OoOO god! here comes another one" I said

"Breathe In, Breathe out" Annie said

"It's not working! It's not working!" i said

"Uh Uh close your legs!" Annie said

"She shoulda thought of that nine months ago!" Natalie said

"OoOO don't make me laugh!" I said

"We're here!" Annie announced as the cab pulled up in front of the hospital

"OoOO good! Morphine!" I said

We checked in at the front desk and were soon put up in a private room, where a nice man in scrubs gave me an epidural ..which numbed the pain for a bit but soon the contractions were coming stronger and faster

"WHERE'S JOHN!" I yelled

"He's coming honey, don't worry" Annie said holding my hand

"OoOO god!! i wanna die !!" i cried

"Now Mrs Distefino, we need you to push ok?" the doctor said

"No..john's not here yet.." i said

"Well..this baby doesn't want to wait for him..you need to push " the doctor said

"Nik,honey!" John said

"Where the HELL have you been??!" i asked

"Sorry i got stuck uptown and there was an accident on the Mahattan Overpass" John explained

"I'm having YOUR baby and your giving me some lame excuse?! are you kidding me?!" I said an inch away from biting off his nose

"Can we fight about this later?..right now..PUSH!" John said

"AUGHHHH!!!!! OH MY GOD..SHE'S GOT MY MOTHER'S HIPS!" I yelled

"One more!" the doctor said

"UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" I screamed..

the baby came sliding out and shriek

"WAHHHHHHHHH!" The baby shrieked

"Is it a boy or a girl?" John asked

"you have a little girl!" the doctor said

"Oh my god!" i said crying

the doctors cleaned up the baby and handed her to John

"She's so tiny.." He whispered

I took a good look at our daughter, she had peach-colored skin and the darkest hair, my eyes and john's nose..she was so adorable.

"She's perfect" I said

After a few hours in recovery, the baby and i were brought into a hospital room, where John stood over her and watched her sleep

"We still  need a name for her" I said

"I know..do you have any ideas?" He asked

"Maggie?" I said

"Hmm..Maggie..i like it ...what about Elizabeth for a middle name?" He said

"Maggie Elizabeth ..i love it.." I said staring at my husband

"Maggie Elizabeth Distefino you are.." He picked up the baby and we all sat on the bed together

We watched our little daughter stretch and move around a bit, she was so amazing ..and when she looked at us with a dead on stare, it was instant love

Just then there was knock at the door

"Come In" I called

"Are you guys up for vistors?" Stevanne said poking her head through the door

"Sure..Come on in" I said struggling to sit up

"Don't get up for us.." Catie said

"Haha" I said rolling my eyes

"Is this her?"Annie asked pointing to Maggie

"No..it's a loaner" Natalie laughed

"Guys ..this is Maggie" John said

"OoOO She's so pretty ..i gotta take a picture" Michelle said  starting to snap a ton of pictures

"Alright Michelle, let's not blind the kid" Catie said,

"Anyone know what time is it?" I asked

"It's around 2am..why?" Annie said looking at her watch

"It's christmas eve" I said

"Well We got our present a little earlier this year" John said

"Happy Birthday to you," Catie started to sing," Happy birthday to you .. happy birthday dear Maggie Elizabeth ..happy birthday to you"

 Everyone joined in and sang to our baby, who closed her eyes for a little bit then she'd wake up and look around.

"Oh my god!" Annie gasped suddenly

"What?" We broke away from looking at our daughter to looking at her

"It's snowing!" We looked out the window

"Oh, wow..Look Maggie, snow" I said to the baby, who'd fallen asleep in my arms

We said around and talked and watched the snow for a bit until everyone had to go then it was just John me and the baby.

"Can you believe she's here" John asked

"Oh i believe it.. 10 hours of labor, i believe it.. " I said laughing

"True..i think this is going to be one of the best christmas's ever" John said

"Absoutely" I said

We were able to bring home Maggie the day after christmas, December 26th.

As we pulled up to the house, it seemed like a lifetime ago that just the two of us lived there ..

"Oh while you were in the hospital, i finished up the baby's room" John said before turning off the car

"You did? by yourself?" I asked slowly letting myself out of the Jeep

"Well No, Gina and Annie came by and helped paint then Stevanne and Catie setup the crib" John said taking out the baby carrier

"oOo thouse guys are too much" I said opening the front door

"SURPRISE!" voices shouted

"oh my god!" I said putting my hand over my mouth

everyone was there, our parents, all our friends and basically everyone who'd come to our wedding were in our Living room throwing confetti at us.

"I can't believe this...!" I said as everyone rushed around us hugging me and slapping John on the back

"We've been planning this for months!" Catie said then giving me a hug

"Where's my grandchild!" My mother said pushing past Catie

John had taken the baby upstairs to change her but was coming down the stairs

"Me first" John's mom said

"She's my daughter" My mom said squaring off with John's mom

"He's my son" John's mom said

"How about this..let me sit down and you both can hold her?" I said

"Alright" They both relented

"I knew we shoulda had twins" John whispered in my ear

"Fine next time YOU have the baby" I said then laughed

"So have you picked a name yet?" Vince asked kneeling beside my chair

"Yes..this is Maggie Elizabeth" I said

"Hello Mags" Vince said stroking  Maggie's hair

She wiggled for a bit then went back to sleep

"Oo someone's tired" i said playing with her little hand

"How are my two favorite girls?" John said leaning over the chair

"Well Maggie's sleeping and i'm starving..could you take her so i could get a cookie or something?" I said standing

"Uh sure.but i don't wanna drop her" He said nervously

"You won't..i'll be right back" I said and handed him the baby

I walked to the other side of the house where the food had been set up and just watched John with our baby, he looked nervous but after a few minutes, he started to relax and he even started to dance around a little with her.

"Nik?" Annie said snapping me out of my stare

"Yeah?" I said turning to her

"How you feeling?" She said

"Incredibly sore" I said laughing

"Eh ..it'll pass.." She said handing me a cookie

"Yeah..i hope so" I said biting into the cookie

"We were thinking maybe next week we'd all go out to dinner?" She said

"Maybe.." I said as the baby started to cry

"NIK..HELP" John called

Everyone turned and laughed because he looked so helpless and Maggie was moving her little hands and legs like she was trying to go somewhere

I shook my head and walked over to where he stood

"I think i broke the baby" He said panicking

"Why? what makes you think that?" I said trying not laughing

"She's making weird noises and twisting around" He said

"Babies make noises and they move around..Maggie's seeing everything for the first time and she wants to be where the action is" I said taking the baby and walking around the living room

"Oh here's the guest of honor!" My Auntie Diane said

"Oh auntie" I started to say

"Not you dear..Maggie" She said holding out her arms

"Oh." I said then gave the baby to my aunt

I was walking around and talking to different people when someone grabbed me from behind, before i could scream..i realized it was John..

"Can I have this dance?" He asked spinning me around

"Oh i suppose but we have no music" I said

"I think we can fix that..YO! VIN...TURN UP THE STERIO " John yelled

"Alright" He turned up the radio

As we were dancing..John started singing to me..it was so sweet..

After everyone left and it was just the three of us..the apartment seemed suddenly empty.

"Now what?" John asked

"Good Question.." I replied

After we put Maggie to bed, we sat in bed, i attempted to read but John was restless

"How long before we can ..ya know?" He said

"Six weeks" I said turning the page

"Oh man" He said rolling his eyes

"Well i need time to heal..i did just have a baby you know" I said

"Yeah I know I know" he said

Just then Maggie started to cry

"Do you want me to go or do you want to go?" I asked

"You go" He said

"Fine" I got up and walked into the nursery

"Hi baby," I said picking her up and sitting the rocking chair

She fussed and squirmed around for a few minutes.

"Is she alright" John asked from the doorway

"I think she misses her Daddy.." I said

"Well..i think fix that" He said taking the baby from me,"Hi there Maggie"

she stopped fussing and started to fall asleep

"Oh that's it baby..go to sleep..nite nite"He put her in the crib and we went back into our room..

Over the next few weeks, we got into a schedule, Maggie would get up at 3am, one of us would feed her then put her back, where she'd go back to sleep until 7am then we'd take turns feeding her and playing with her until the other one would wake  up and then that person would take over..

this worked well until Maggie was about six weeks old, John had to go out of town

"Your leaving?" I said two days before he left for California

"Nik, i have to go, It's the skateboarder's convention" John said packing his suitcase

"What's more important..your daughter or a convention?" I said

"Hey, that's not fair" He said looking for his watch

"Right here, well it's true" I said holding up the watch

"C'mon..you know Business sucks right now..i need to go the convention besides it's only for three days" He said zipping up the suitcase

"Gee..maybe while your gone..I'll go clubbing" I said

"Yeah Ok" John rolled his eyes

"It's true..i can have fun while you have fun" I defended myself

"Yeah,Well just don't get Maggie arrested, we don't want her having a record before her first birthday" He said then picked up the Baby,"Alright Maggie, say bye bye to Daddy" He kissed her on the forehead and then just before he walked out the door, he kissed me on the head and handed me Maggie.

"I love you Nik" He said

"Yeah Yeah i love you too .." I said then he was gone

"If you were any kind of a daughter, you'd have thrown up on him" I said looking down

She burped in response

"Thank you" I said

That night Maggie and I went to dinner  all my girls, Catie, Stevanne, Gina, Nat, Annie Michelle, Both Jens and Rachel.

I wheeled the carriage into the restaurant..20 minutes as usual..

"Finally" Annie said then hugging me

"Sorry..it's so was hard to get a cab" I said

"Why don't you have Car?" Catie said

"We would have been stuck on Avenue A for another 40 minutes" I said sitting down..

"Good Point."  Gina said

"Where's Maggie?" Stevanne asked

"Right here" I said lifting her out of the carriage

"Ooo there's little Maggie!" Michelle exclaimed holding out her hands

"Hey me first" Jen said

"Back off..I'm first" Jen T said

"How about we eat first then fight over my child" I suggest

"Ok Ok.." They agreed  

"Hey where's John tonight?" Rachel asked

"He's in Califorina for the next few days so it's just us girls" I said drinking my water

"Really?" Interesting.."Annie said

"What are you thinking?" Catie said

"Well.." Annie said scratching her head

"Oh god..i know that look" Gina said burying  her head in her hands

"Let's have a party" She said jumping up and down

"Oh hell no" Stevanne said

"What? why not?" Annie said

"Why not? because i have child and one of your parties would send the both of us up the river" I said shaking my head

"What river?" Annie looked confused

"Neva Mind.. no big parties ..but we can have a little one" I said

"What kind of a Little one?" Natalie asked

"Like a sleepover" I said

"A sleepover, we haven't had one of those since high school" Catie pointed out

"I'm in" Stevanne said

"Me too" Everyone else said

"Alright everyone ..be at my house @7" I said

The next day, I was rushing around trying to clean everything up before everyone come over and running around to the supper market to get the supplies.

just before everyone was due at our house, Maggie started to cry, I was downstairs reading a magazine but jumped up and ran up stairs to get her

"Hi Baby" I said picking her up,

she kept on wailing

I walked back and forth but nothing would calm her down

"Alright Alright..Do you want your ducky" I said

She screamed later

"Ok Ok, let's go downstairs, find your ducky and maybe have a bottle before all your aunts come over" I said starting to walk down the stairs

We got about half way down  the stairs before i tripped over John's sneakers and fell down the stairs

  just before ilanded at the bottom, i saw Maggie hit her head on the front door

"My baby" I said before passing out

As i was out cold, all these memories suddenly came rushing toward me, starting when i was kid,playing with my cousins, then as a teenager goofing around playing in the car and then graduation,  I saw Annie crying and Dina laughing, I myself getting my diploma and watching the expressions on everyone's face when i read my speech, then suddenly time rushed forward and i saw John and I on our wedding day, saying our vows and looking at each other, then I saw Maggie being born and watching John hold our daughter for the first time.

I just wanted to wake up but it was like someone was holding me down, i struggled to get up but it was so hard...

"Nik" I heard a voice call my name..God?!!

"NIK!" The voice called again..

Please god.. Don't take me...  i want to see my daughter grown up, I want to be able to fight with her when she's a teenager..

"NICOLE!" The voice called more urgently

Please God..if you have to take me..can't you just wait until my Husband gets here so my daughter will have someone to watch over her

"NICOLE..IF YOU CAN HEAR ME..PLEASE SQUEEZE MY HAND" The voice said

God sounds remarkably like Catie

"NIK, PLEASE..YOU HAVE TO WAKE UP" the voice sounded so far away

I can't... I'm sorry ..tell Maggie I love her ..Tell John..I'm sorry I have to leave like this and I do love him..please protect them..  Say goodbye to Ma and Daddy for me..Tell Ali to be a good girl.. Tell Stace..I'm sorry about half the crap i put her threw..just tell them goodbye and I'm sorry..I want to be able to say goodbye.. ..goodbye..goodbye...

"Goodbye" I muttered

"Oh my god she's awake!" a voice said

"Are you positive?" another voice said

"Yes..she just said goodbye" The voice replied

"Nikk.sweetie" a third voice said  

"Goodbye" I muttered again

"No goodbye honey.." a fourth voice said

"Nikko, open your eyes!" a voice demanded

"NICOLE!"  a voice shouted

"Don't shout!" a voice said

"Well maybe scaring her would wake her up" the voice replied

"She's in a coma, not Yankee stadium" the voice sounded pissed

If this is Heaven..I'm screwed ...

"Alright.. I know my Nikko..she won't respond to yelling or threats..Nik.there is a HOT intern you have to open your eyes to see..he said if you open your eyes..he'd give you a special Spongebath" the voice whistled

"Catie!" a voice sounded shocked

"What?..hey i'm trying here..gimme credit" The voice defended herself

even on my deathbed..they'd still fight..i don't believe this

"I don't believe this" i muttered

"She's talking!" a voice said

"NICOLE OPEN YOUR EYES..BABYGIRL..YOU HAVE TO OPEN YOUR EYES!" A voice called

then suddenly I could move and my eyes worked again..but once i opened my eyes..i couldn't see anything

"Oh my god I'm blind!" I panicked

"No Honey..they took off your glasses in the ambulance" a blurry person said ..i think it was Annie

"Here " Someone put my glasses on my face

"I'm alive?!" I couldn't believe it

"Hi Baby..of course you are" Natalie said

"What happened?" I tried to look around but something was preventing me from moving..

"Honey..you broke your ankle and they had to put a cast on you up to your kneecap.."Stevanne explained

"How did i break my ankle?" I wondered

"You don't remember?" Catie asked

I shook my head

"Well We were going to have a sleepover, as a matter of fact, we were on the Porch when Natalie saw you fall from the top of the stairs" Gina said grabbing my hand

"Oh my god Maggie!" I was panic-stricken

"She has a slight concussion,they had to put her in a medically-induced coma" Rachel said crying

"What? Why?" I said

"Because where she's still so little, they didn't want to take any chances and because you were out cold and John's in California, they asked us for consent and we agreed" Michelle said

"Is my baby going to die?" I said crying

"We don't know..the Doctor's haven't done rounds yet" Jen said

"Has anyone called John yet?" I asked

"Not yet..we were waiting to see if you'd wake up" Natalie said

"How long have I been out?" I asked

"Two days" Annie said

"TWO DAYS?" i couldn't believe it

So Ok..I'm the last person who should ever be telling my story but here goes

Life's funny..one minute your a carefree 21 year old with the world at your finger tips, the next moment, your life changes in an instant.

My boyfriend, John and i had been together for almost five years, we'd been through everything together, graduations,breakups, funerals ..everything..although we seemed incompatible, we had alot of things in common, we both loved to laugh, loved music and just in general had an amazing connection..Just after we'd moved to new york and into an apartment  ..that's when things started to get crazy

"Nikki,..let's go on vacation" John said one night while i was reading and he was bored because nothing was on tv

"Alright..but where?" I said putting my book down and looking at him

"I don't know, how about Paris or Maybe Monaco?" John said

"Let's go to Paris..i always wanted to go there..do you want me to make the arrangements?" I asked

"No..i got it..well there is one thing you could do..hehe" He said pulling me towards him

"Oh boy" I said laughing...

the next few days  as John made arrangments for Paris, i was going around trying to get everything done, first giving my notice at the New York Times and then going shopping for new clothes because lately my clothes hadn't been fitting right..

I was in the middle of  Saks, digging through the sales rack with my friends,Catie, Gina Annie and Natalie when i started to feel sick

"Oh my god!, i think i'm gonna be sick.." I said putting my hand over my mouth and running into the ladies room

"NIK..YOU IN HERE?" Cat yelled running after me

"yEAh..hold on!" i said as i got sick again, Annie opened the stall and Gina pulled my hair back ..

"Nikki..what the hell did you eat to make you so sick" Natalie said

" Nothing.. I'm pregnant" i said getting up and sitting on the toliet seat

"What?" the four  of them said at the same time

"Yup..I'm pregnant" I said

"Oh my god!" Natalie said

"Holy hell" Gina said

"Oh honey, i'm so happy" annie said wrapping her arms around my neck

"Does John know?" Catie asked kneeling down

"No i figured I'd tell him in Paris...guys..what am i gonna do? I can't have a baby." I said crying into Catie's shoulder 

"Nik..calm down..people have babies EVERY day...it's gonna be ok" Gina said handing me a water bottle

"Besides,when this baby comes, everyone is gonna help out and love this baby so much..it's gonna be nuts" Natalie said

"Nikki..the best part about you having a baby..is gonna be the baby shower..which is gonna kick ass" Annie said

 "Now before you blow chunks again..let's go buy something sexy for you to wear to break the news to John" Catie said

"Alright but something black because i'm already getting huge" I said crinkling my nose

A few days later, we got on a plane to Paris, which is like a 12 hour flight, torture for a person who wants to throw up every 10 minutes, i was cramming crackers down my throat.

"Are you alright?"John asked just outside of the terminal

"I'm fine..just nerves i guess" I said sticking a cracker into my mouth

"Oh Ok " He said turning around and giving our tickets to the flight stewardess and we got on the plane, We'd barely gotten our seatbelts on when i had to get up and go to the bathroom

"John ..let me out" I said because i was sitting on the window side

"Didn't you just go to the bathroom" He asked getting up

"So?  i have a weak bladder" I said walking passed him..as soon as i was out of his eye-line.. i ran to the bathroom and got sick.. why do they call it morning sickness when it happens EVERY  20 minutes

After i got sick..i cleaned myself up and walked back to the seat..

"John ..can we switch seats?" I asked

"I guess..why?" he asked

"Can we just switch..please?" I said irrated

"Yeah alright" he said finally moving

I wanted to tell him a million times durning the flight about the baby but i figure..him flipping out on a plane would not be good especially people tense about terrorists

We finally landed in Paris at 9o'clock(new york time) .. got our luggage and headed out to get a cab

"So what do you wanna do first?" John asked

"Can we just go to the hotel?..i'm really tired" I said

"Sure..but i have a romantic dinner planned for later tonight..do you think you'll be up for that?" He asked opening the door of the cab

"Absoutely" I said getting into the cab, as the cab pulled away, i put my head on John's shoulder and fell asleep

"Nik....wake up...We're here"John said as the cab jerked to a stop

"Hmm Ok" I said struggling to get my eyes open

"Are you alright?" John asked helping me get out the cab

"I'm fine..just a little jet lag" I said getting a look at our hotel

It was beautiful.it was a castle..it was like something out of a fairytale

"Oh John" i said

"like it?" he asked

"I love it" I said

"I'm gonna go check us in" John kissed me on the forehead and went inside

I couldn't believe it..i was in the most romantic place in the world and all i could think about was how i was getting sick every few minutes.. I looked around and everything was beautiful, the buildings, the statues ..everything..it was amazing..

"Nik!" John called to me from the doorway

"Yeah.?" I said

"We're all set honey" He said and went back into the hotel

I nodded and walked into the hotel. The Bellhop took our bags and opened the door to a room.

It was beautiful..it had a balcony,a big bed and a huge living room..it was like staying at the Trump Towers..

"This place is so amazing.." I said bellyflopping onto the bed

"I saw it on the website and figured this would be a perfect vacation spot" John said flopping down beside me,"Are you gonna be alright here by yourself for awhile..i have to go run a few errands" he asked

"I'm fine..what kind of errands are you running?" I asked

"Never mind..just stay here ..and when i'm done..i'll call you " He said kissing me on the head and walking out the door

"k" I said falling asleep

i must have been asleep for a number of hours because it was dark outside and the phone was ringing

"ello?" i said rubbing my eyes

"hey sleeping beauty.." it was John..

"Hi honey" i said sitting up

"Put on your most pretty dress and come downstairs"he said then hung up

I put on my black strapless dress..put my hair in a pony-tail and put on my highest heels and walked down to the lobby..

At the front desk,i asked some woman where i was supposed to go

"Hi my boyfriend just called and told me to meet him in the lobby?" I asked

"Oh are you Nikki?" the woman asked

"Yes M'am " i said

the woman came around the desk and started to put a blindfold on me

"Excuse me? what are you doing?" i asked

"M'am..your boyfriend asked us to do this..ordinarily i would think this is insane but please just go along with it" the woman finished tying the blindfold

"How am I supposed to find my boyfriend if i can't see?" i said

"I'm right here" i heard John's voice

"John..why am i blindfolded?" I asked

"You'll see" He said mysteriously then took my hand

We walked for about five minutes before we finally stopped

"JOhN can i take the blindfold off?" i whined

"No..not yet..and stop whining" He said

"Augh this is torture" i said

"Alright Alright..take off the blindfold" John said

I took off the blindfold and gasped..

In front of me on a Balcony  was a table, with champagne, red roses..everything you need for a romantic night

"Oh my god! John!" I said starting to cry

"Hold on before the waterworks start..i need to ask you a question?" John

"Ok" I said wiping my eyes

he got down on one knee, took my hand in his and looked up at me

"Nikki..will you marry me?" he said opeing a box with a square cut diamond with hearts all around the band

"Oh my god" I said

"Well?" John asked

"I'm pregnant" I said

"What?' he couldn't believe

"I'm pregnant" I said getting down my knees beside him

"WHOO!" he said picking me up and swinging me around  

"Augh! Put me down!" I said laughing

"So Ok..you never answered my question" He said putting me down

"Of course!" I said kissing him causing him to fall backward, i was still laying ontop of him when he put the ring on my finger

"I guess you won't be drinking the champagne" He said

"No but you can feel free to get drunk" I said getting up

He got up as well and pulled out my chair..

"Why didn't you tell me your pregnant?" he asked

"I wanted to surprise you" I said

"When are you due?" John asked

"Dec 24th..christmas eve" I said

"It's gonna be a merry christmas.." John said standing up and kissing me,"A toast..pick up your water glass"

I held up my water glass

"To Us and to our baby!" John said

"To Us and our baby" i repeated and we kissed again.

We spent the rest of our vacation alternating between sightseeing and staying in bed all day..before we knew it..it was time to head back to New York

We talked about how we would break the news about our engagment and the baby to our friends and family, we finally settled on having a big party and telling everyone at once.

Looking around our tiny apartment, i realized we didn't have enough room  for a baby

"We need a bigger apartment" I said to John just after we got back from Paris

"You're right but can we afford a bigger apartment?" he said

"Yeah, I think we can with my job at the Times and you putting in overtime at the store, i think we can afford at least a decent sized apartment" i said

in between Apartment hunting and planning the party, we were both stressing out and getting ready to kill each other..

"OH MY GOD!" I yelled one afternoon after tripping over John's sneakers for the thousandth time

"What now?" John called from our bedroom

"IF I TRIP OVER THESE SNEAKERS ONE MORE TIME" I yelled

"Ya know..you are starting to sound exactly like your mother" He said coming into the living room

"What?" i was so angry

"You heard me" He said

"Oh that's it" i said picking up his sneakers and throwning them out the window

"My favorite running  sneakers!" he said running to windows

"Now they're air-jordan's!" I said

"Not funny!" he said running down the stairs and picking his shoes out of the garbage bin

When he came back into the apartment, i was laughing so hard i was in tears

"Pain in the ass" He said under his breath

The night of our party, everyome we'd  have known came into town, we'd spent nearly a thousand dollars on food because  neither of us cooks.

Just before everyone arrived, we were getting dressed, I was attempting to squeeze myself into a sundress but not having any luck

"Augh..nothing fits anymore!" I said stomping  my foot

"Why don't you put on that black dress you wore in Paris?" He suggested

"I guess so .." I said  digging the dress out of the closet and putting it on

"Or..you could go naked?..which would be fine with me" John  said tackling me in front of the mirror and pushing me down on the bed

"Oh no you don't " i said attempting to get up," people are going to be here any second, john, oOo ..your squishing me and the baby"

"Oh right sorry" he said letting me up

"Great..now my hair looks like i just stuck my finger into an electrical socket" i said flatting my hair

Just then the door bell rang

"I'll go answer that while you fix yourself" John said

I tossed the pillow at his face. I heard him open the door and greet someone

"NIK" John called,"It's Stevanne and Michelle"

"I'll be right out," I called back

Over the next two hours, our parents, siblings, aunts uncles friends cousins, nieces and nephews arrived..our little apartment was FILLED with people

"ALRIGHT, Nik, you got us down here now what's the big surprise" My Cousin Louis shouted while John and I  were  in the kitchen

"I think we'd better tell them before the crowd gets restless" John said

"Alright" I took a deep breathe and walked into the living room

"EVERYONE SHUT UP.." Dina yelled

"Thank you D." I said rolling my eyes

"Everyone, I just want to thank you for coming and the reason that we called you here, is to tell you..we've decided to get married" John said

"FINALLY" everyone shouted together then everyone rushed forward to hug us

"Wait Wait there's more," I said

"What's else is there?" Stacey said

"I'm pregnant " I said

"Oh my god!" My mom said

"I'm too young to be a grandmother" John's mom said

"I'm going to be an Aunt" Stacey said crying

"I hope to hell you guys buy a bigger apartment" Dina said

"We are.." I said

"Alright..a toast.." my father said

"Wait..we have a surprise for Nikki and John" Vince said

Him, Newman and Sosseman  got in the middle of the living room, pushed back the couch and started to sing:

I was laughing so hard because i love that show when i was a kid and couldn't believe that they'd actually got up and sang that for me..i also couldn't believe they knew i was pregnant

"You guys..that was so sweet" I said giving Vince a hug

"We wouldn't do it for anyone else but you Nik" Vince said

Well after our big announcement, everyone began talking at once until about three in the morning, when half our guests passed out on the floor and the other half passed out in the living room

As John and i were getting ready for bed,i was dead tired but i had to know how Vin knew i was pregnant before we told the rest of the family

"Johnny..how did Vince know i was pregnant?" I said sitting on the bed

"I uh don't know" John said turning around and walking into the bathroom

"You told him!!" I couldn't believe him

"No  i didn't " He started his teeth

"Yeah you did...we've only been back from paris for 7 days so you must have .." I stopped short

"Called him while we were in Paris ..yeah" He said then spit

"Why?" I asked

"Hey i was proud..." He said turning toward me

"the fact that we did it once and i wound up pregnant?" I said

"Well Hell ya " He said," You told Gina, Catie Annie and Nat before you told me"

"I did not" I said turning around and walking away

"You lie!" He called me on it

"Alright Alright ..i told them .." I confessed

"We're both guilty of having big mouths " John said getting into bed

"This is true..Night" I said and kissed him

"Night baby" He said kissing me then my stomach

Over the next few weeks, we were so busy trying to find an apartment, have a wedding and plan for the baby that we literally wore ourselves out..

the first problem...finding an apartment was solved quickly when we found a beautiful browstown in Brooklyn that had enough room for all our stuff that was in storage and enough room for the baby plus room for when our friend or family dropped by unexpectedly

the second problem was trying to find a church that could marry us as soon as possible that could also understand our "special circumstances", after visting about a half dozen catholic churches, we found a beautiful old church right in the center of Mahattan..that was settled

My biggest problem didn't really affect John because it was my minor problem.. my problem was trying to find a dress ..

The girls and i went shopping for a wedding dress

"May i help you?" the sales lady asked

"Yes i need to find a dress.." I said

"We're in a bit of a rush as you can see" Annie said putting her hand on my stomach which was getting bigger everday

"Ah... I see..follow me please?" The woman

"I betcha 10 bucks she brings out a white dress" Stevanne said

"I'll take that bet and i bet another 10 it'll look like something out of Rocky Horror Picture show" Gina said

"I'm in.." Catie said passing a 10 to Gina 

"You guys are awful... betting on her wedding dress!" Annie said then added ," 20 says the woman picks up a puke-green dress"

The woman stopped suddenly turned around and said,"I've got the perfect dress"

and then ran off.

She came back several minutes later, holding a white fluffy gown that even Rupaul wouldn't be caught dead in.

"Um..did we happen to mention..I'm pregnant..i don't think i should be wearing white." I said uncertainly

"Well ..if you pick your dress, we can have it dyed any color you choose." the woman said

"Ok..thank you.." Annie said taking my hand and leading me around the bridal store, after searching for about 20 minutes, i found a beautiful long sleeved kinda mini skirt  just like the one Julianne Moore wore in 9 months. It was perfect,

"What color would you like us to dye your dress?"the woman asked as she ran my credit card through the machine

"A very pale pink" I said

"PINK?" the girls said together

"Yes Pink" I said

"And for the bridesmaids?" the woman asked

 "Black and white strapless gowns .." I said

"How many?" The woman asked

"5" I said

"Ok..come back in a month and we'll do the final fitting " The woman said

The month went by quickly and pretty soon, it was the day of the wedding, I was so afraid that my dress wouldnt fit but somehow it fit! Between my mother, my friends and my cousin helping me get dressed, i didn't even get a chance to process what was going on until Annie was attempting to straighten out my hair

"Oh my god!" I said jumping up

"What? Did i burn you?" Annie asked

"No..I just realized I'm getting married!" I said

"Honey, you've been planning this wedding for over three months ..it just crossed your mind that your getting married?!" Catie said

"It just completely hit me! ..oh my god! am I doing the right thing?" I said starting to panic

"A little late to be backing out dontcha think?" Stevanne said

"No i could just run out and forget the whole thing!" I said

"You're pregnant you can't RUN anywhere " Natalie pointed out

"True" I said

"So are you gonna bail or are you gonna get married?" Catie asked

"Get Married" I said taking a deep breathe

"Good because i will never get your hair this straight or flat again" Annie said twirling the chair around to the mirror

I gasped, Annie and Catie had woven little flowers in my hair underneath my veil..it looked AMAZING i couldn't believe it, I started to cry

"Oh god..the waterworks are starting and that water-proof mascara only lasts through   light tears not hysterically sobbing so let's get moving!" Gina said clapping her hands

We got into the Limos and got to the church, standing in line it went Natalie, Stevanne, Gina Catie and Annie..before it was my time to walk down the aisle i peeked inside the church and saw John at the end of the aisle ... he looked amazing in his versace suit...i couldn't believe it..we're finally getting married!

As my father walked me down the aisle, i couldn't take my eyes off John, he seemed to lose control because his eyes were getting red,

We finally reached the end of the Aisle, where my father gave my hand to John,

"Who presents this woman to be wed?" the priest asked

"Her mother and I do" my father answered then sat next to my mother

"Dearly Beloved, we are gathered to celebrate the marriage of Jonathan Roger  and Nicole Victoria, if anyone has any objects to these two being wed ..please speak now or forever hold your peace" The Priest said

Nothing

"Jonathan, do you take Nicole Victoria to be your wife, to have and to hold through sickness and health until death do you part?" The priest asked

"I do" John answered

"Nicole Victoria, do you take  Jonathan to have and to hold through sickness and health until death  do you  part?" The Priest asked me

"I do" I responded

"May i have the rings please?" the priest asked Vince who was John's best man and asked Annie who was my maid-of-honor

"Jonathan Roger, please repeat after me..with this ring, i thee wed" The priest

"With this ring, i thee wed" He said putting the ring my finger

"Nicole Victoria, with this ring, i thee wed" The priest asked me

"With this ring, i thee wed" I said and started to cry

"With the Powers invested by me and the state of New York, I now pronouce you husband and wife " The Priest called,"You may now kiss the bride"

John gave me such a kiss that we nearly toppled over

"Ladies and Gentleman, I present Mr.and Mrs. Jonathan Distefino!" the priest called

The whole church errupted into screams and cheers..John and I practically ran down the aisle, we were so happy!

 In the limo, on the way to the reception, we sat back and just looked at each other

"Can you believe we're finally married!" John said

"I know..it's so surreal!" I replied, just then  i felt a little kick,"Oh my god..john!..the baby kicked!"

"What?" John said

"Yeah here put your hand here!" I took his hand and placed it on my stomach where the baby kicked again

"I think someone's happy!" John said then put his mouth to my stomach,"Are you happy now that mommy and daddy have made it official and your not illegimate anymore!" just then the baby kicked again

"I think that's a yes" I said laughing  

We walked into the reception, everyone stood up and cheered,  the Dj annouced our arrival and John took my hand and led me on the dance floor, where we had our first dance as husband and wife to Donna Lewis Now and Forever
